Roy Edward Mathews, age 92, of Cohasset, MN passed absent Wednesday, September 14, 2022 surrounded by his household.  Roy was born April 21, 1930 in Duluth, MN and adopted by Edward and Minnie Mathews at 9 months previous. Roy cherished growing up and raising his young children in rural Cohasset. He proudly served in the U.S. Army throughout the Korean War as Grasp Sergeant. Roy cherished his position performing for Itasca County Highway and Bridge, exactly where he retired as foreman in 1992 after 35 decades.  Roy was married to the really like of his existence, Gail Mathews, of 69 decades. They cherished to vacation with family members and close friends, specially using bike visits out West. One of his favorite trips he attained was his bike vacation to Alaska. Roy also had a enjoy of the outdoors like none other. He was so kindhearted which led to he and Gail obtaining a lot of animals and pets. He beloved his time deer looking with spouse and children and buddies. If he hardly ever shot a deer, he was pleased with just sitting in the woods observing all the other wildlife. Roy is preceded in death by his moms and dads, Edward and Minnie (Huntington) Mathews, and his eldest son, Gary Mathews.  Roy leaves behind his beloved wife, Gail Mathews children, Ron (Wendy) Mathews, Marianne (Don) Coatsworth, and Greg (Wendy) Mathews grandchildren, Scott (Sophie Bolstad) Mathews, Holly (Jeremy) Gmahl, Coty (Caitlyn) Coatsworth, and Matt (Megan Clark) Coatsworth phase-grandchildren, Shawn Heinen, Jason (Jayde) Heinen, Sara (Matt) Lundin, and Holly (Sam) Metzgar excellent grandchildren, Hunter, Hudson, Hayden, Cooper, Benson, Maeve, Duke, Zoey, and Roy II and his action-grandchildren, Kaydin, Brielle, Summer time, Kruz, and Theo.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 11 AM till the 12 PM Memorial Service at Local community Presbyterian Church, Grand Rapids, MN. Rev.
