Lots of Xbox Game Pass goodies!
It’s a busy week on the Xbox Store this week with plenty of new releases and a handful of new additions to the Xbox Game Pass library. So, what’s new on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One this week? What new games are joining Xbox Game Pass?
Xbox Game Pass subscribers are being well looked after this week with Cities: Skylines Remastered launching directly onto the service, giving would-be city planners the next-gen version at no extra cost. The next-gen remaster will offer players technical and visual improvements as well as a new map editor and the ability to build greater cities. For those who already own the original version of the game for last-gen consoles, they’ll get the remaster at no extra cost as a free update.
Another game launching straight into Xbox Game Pass is Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition. This isn’t actually a brand new release as Shadow Warrior 3 launched last year, though this Definitive Edition does bring some new functionality to the chaotic first-person shooter, namely in the form of next-gen performance modes. The original release didn’t have any next-gen optimizations, so this Definitive Edition acts as a next-gen update, allowing players to choose between higher resolutions or higher frame rates. In addition, the Definitive Edition also brings some new game modes and New Game+ for those who want another reason to do it all again, irrespective of platform. Funnily enough, Shadow Warrior 3 was rumored to be joining Xbox Game Pass just a few weeks ago as Microsoft accidentally sent out push notifications to Xbox Game Pass app users’ phones. Well, better late than never…
For all the soppy lovers out there wanting some Valentine’s Day mush, Ten Dates is launching on February 14. Ten Dates is another live-action game from specialist developer Wales Interactive, and it’s the sequel to Five Dates.
If you’d rather forget about the lack of love in your life (you’re not alone, folks!) then Journey to the Savage Planet: Employee of the Month Edition brings quirky humor and sci-fi action to Xbox Series X|S. It’s a free upgrade if you already own the original and it brings some welcome next-gen performance enhancements, such as 4K resolutions, 60FPS gameplay (30FPS on Xbox Series S) and some more in-game content.
Here’s what’s coming to Xbox this week. As always, if anything has slipped us by or sneaks in mid-week, we’ll update this article to reflect the changes. If you’re keeping an eye on what’s coming throughout the year, you may find our video game release date calendar is worth a look.
