If there were an Christian Ad alternative to Google Ads, I would definately replace my google ads with them as long as the revenue justifies the switch.
I think logistically it would be difficult for such a company to determine who can and can not purchase ads within them. Can say 'verizon' purchase ads within the network, because the owner is a Christian? I think if such a company was formed and could get off the ground by allowing non-offensive type sites, it would surely be a hit.
This company wouldn't even need to be specifically Christian, but family friendly. Offering services which appeal to Christians while still being content relevant, would be awesome !
There are actually a few little Christian ad networks around, but none with any traffic to speak of. That's the problem really. I don't advertise on any of them, because it isn't worth it. Sites don't join because they don't know about it or it isn't worth it to them. A catch 22 really.
To make it feasible there would have to be enough interest and more importantly volume for someone to move forward with it.
Volume is what sells to advertisers and why they buy into a network, volume and performance.
Anyone interested in this sort of thing? If so what kind of montly page impression volume could you send to it?
Actually their is an alternative in the works but it's still in beta testing. It's called Day of Liberty and as soon as it's up and running I might consider using it. Right now I'm researching info on Adbites and Yahoo! Publisher.
I have started a new Christian Ad network at http://Christian-Ad.com. We already have quite a bit of page view volume and some good advertisers.
I work in the advertising industry and there seems to be a real lack of options for Christian oriented sites when it comes to earning revenue from advertising to help support their sites. Now I'm not talking about church sites, but more about forum sites and the like. I see secular sites turn great content into revenue daily and I would propose that Christian sites can do the same to help further the kingdom.
I see lots of people using google, but there's typically only one or two ads at most, that seems like it wouldnt generate a ton of revenue. Has anyone had any experience with any Christian ad networks? Are there any that pay out on a CPM basis?
Googleing the term Christian Ad Network brought up only one choice and it had some inappropriate stuff on it courtesy of google ads and some unscruplous advertisers who apparently wormed their way into or worked around the filters on the Christian keywords.
There seems to be a need for a network devoted to Christian sites that watches ad content closely and monitors what sites are running the ads. Anyone have any comments on this? I'd certainly think there are plenty of companies who would love to reach Christian consumers.
