Hey Tyler,
Sorry I can't give you much help with presentation software. I just wanted to say welcome. I hope everything works out well for you and your church.
Please keep us all informed of your progress. I know it sometimes can be "interesting" showing the non-techies how to use different types of software.

Hey everybody on G&G. My name is Tyler. I'm from Colorado. I am on staff with a small church and, though I have nothing for technical skill, my role as worship pastor means I oversee tech things. So, huzzah!
I just updated our projection system to a Mac based system. We did this for a few reasons, not the least of which is that our old system was started to falter a bit. Also, we want to start recording sermons and podcasting them so, since I'm a mac guy and I have a recording rig at home, I thought Mac was a good way to go. And, though it isn't live yet, am shopping around for presentation software. It would appear Macs have a lot less available to them and everything seems to be pointing to ProPresenter as the software of choice. I think that for the most part our needs are pretty simple. We need to project scripture, song texts, maybe a countdown clock, and on rare occasions slide shows and video clips. I would also like to be able to utilize motion graphic backgrounds. The preaching pastor has indicated that he might like to be able to trigger slides from up front at some point but that's not of great concern right now.
So my question is this. Based upon what I've outline above, what do you guys think a good option is for presentation software? Should I continue pursuing ProPresenter? Something to consider would be ease of use. I don't have a dedicated tech staff and I'm working with volunteers who aren't tech savvy. They mostly show up sunday morning and click on whatever slide needs to be on screen. Does PP4 have a pretty steep learning curve that might make life difficult for these volunteers? I've downloaded the trial version and the instruction manual is making my head spin, but I pretty much always feel this way in the first few days of trying to learn new software. Is there some other direction I should look.
Any insight would be greatly helpful. I look forward to being a part of this little online community.
