There are a couple guys who would be really neat to hear from on the Geeks & God podcast on the topic of technology and how it shapes faith. It's something I've been obsessing about for awhile as well as a topic that has historically been touched on a ton of times in the podcast.

Shane Hipps seems to be the one really leading this discussion in the church. He's written a couple books. I've heard "The Hidden Power of Electronic Culture", but his latest is called "Flickering Pixels". He's a Mennonite pastor who was formerly a marketing executive or something.

Also, John Dyer writes a blog called "Don't Eat The Fruit" http://donteatthefruit.com/.

Both guys spoke at the Electronic Gospel conference at Dallas Theological Seminary. Both are largely influenced by Marshal McLuhan's thoughts from the 60s & 70s. McLuhan was led to faith through his study of this topic and his personal testimony is documented on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uZYR3jmMng.

re: How Technology Shapes Faith

Thanks for that. Personally, I think there has been a long tradition of technology and faith walking side by side: all the way from the Codex publishing format and Gutenberg's press helping the spread of the Bible, to today's modern pastors using the Internet in the ways talked about in the interview in this week's episode.
I'm quite sure technology has helped develop my faith: it was, in part, listening to podcasts like G&G, the Mars Hill and Mosaic sermons via their podcasts, that helped me decided to go and do the YWAM DTS course.
