A (possibly) little known feature of this site is the ability for our community to transcribe the audio episodes. By having transcriptions, this helps us in a number of ways:
SEO results have more to key in on
Gives a set of notes that others can go back to later for a reminder
Summarizes the episode if anyone didn't get a chance to listen and is an outline for the hearing impaired on what we talk about

There's no way MF or myself would have time to do this, so at the community's request we added the ability for you guys to add transcriptions (currently only logged in users can do this). When logged in, look at an episode and see the "Transcribe this Episode" link (or "Episode Transcription" if someone already started one) near the audio file download links. Just click these and there's info on getting started.

I wanted to point out the most recent transcription of an episode done by Grumpling...he did this in a really smart way, doing a bullet point outline instead of trying to transcribe word for word. I point this out because in the past some users have tried to go word for word and they never get past the first 3-4 minutes of the podcast, because it's too much work. So, I recommend taking Grumplings approach and give it a try...or, go ahead and improve/expand upon his or any other transcriptions. These should be like a Wiki where everyone can contribute a little bit.

Thanks for being part of the community and helping everyone out by contributing to the transcriptions!
