I love using wordpress for TheGdfc, and the magzine type layout for it makes it look like an Online Newsletter/magazine, but doesn't make it feel like one. Any suggestions on a CMS for this sort of thing. Free of course. I am looking into Joomla! and it seems very promising.

What other features/functions are you looking for? A CMS will certainly give you lots of options for extending the base application - many discussions have taken place here before about various CMS platforms.

Check other threads on the topic and if you haven't checked it out go to http://www.opensourcecms.com where you'll find demos available. You don't mention anything too specific about what you need so you will have a choice of what you can use, such as Joomla.
