Chris,
I have a coworker whose church website is on this service. He just walked by my office, so I snagged him and asked him about this post. He said, "It's ok for free, but it's really small and we can't do much with it. We can't even add our bulletin to it."
He's been working on developing a new site, and I've been trying to steer him toward Drupal. There are a few hosting providers out there who offer free hosting packages to registered 501c3 organizations. I've worked with DreamHost and found them to be pretty decent for small Drupal sites. (There are a lot of other discussions about DreamHost here, so I'll leave it at that for now.)

Thanks for your quick reply. The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, as part of their Internet Ministries is offering what they call the Orthodox Web Builder (http://www.orthodoxwebbuilder.org). In reality, it seems to just be a front-end to ForMinistry.com. Because our church is of course part of the Archdiocese, we have members that really want to use this program without full consideration of all the ramifications. I am not all that concerned about the hosting aspects, there are plenty of resources available. My problem is that I am NOT a web design guru or I would have already built it for them. But I have worked with drupal long enough to know that is the way to go for all the things they want/need to do. Now all I have to do is convince the parish council to spend a little money on the development. We can't get by with a cookie cutter design.
Thanks again for your response.
Is anybody out there using Forministry.com's offerings? Any opinion? They are affiliated with the American Bible Society and claim a bunch of churches are using the ForMinistry.com system. I don't particularly like that you are locked into hosting it on their servers and the feature set seems a bit constrictive.
Thoughts? Ideas? Rude remarks?
