Sign-Up Form With Maximum Slots?

So, here's the situation:

For one weekend of each month, instead of having a corporate worship gathering, our church worships by serving in our community. Cool, huh? I agree.

We recently migrated our site to Drupal (yay!), and are loving it! Our biggest need right now is to find a way to allow people to sign up for these serve projects.

We're not using event module or date api, we're just using Gcal events module, so the event sign-up modules through those won't work.

We've been embedding Google Docs forms recently, which has worked well, but it can't automatically close projects after reaching capacity. For example, we have 4 shifts left for 12-2, 3 left for 2-5, etc. Right now, once they fill, we have to manually remove them from the Google Docs form.

Is there a Drupal module to do this? Or even just a free service online that can embed a form of some kind?

Thanks in advance!!!

By the way, I go to Jericho Road Church in Wheaton, IL. We're at www.jerichoroadchurch.org.

I don't think there is a way

I don't think there is a way that you could manually remove a file after it's full. I hate to say it but I think you might have to look at another solution to achieve your end goal.

P.S. I looked at your site in IE6 and it looks pretty wierd (just a login bar at the bottom and a logo at the top).

Not remove the file

Thanks for the reply.

I don't want to remove the FILE, really, I just want to be able to fill a slot. So, if I have an event, with different volunteer options based on time, what the job is, etc., I want to be able to have "X" number of slots available, and once you reach "X," you can no longer sign up for that slot.

Any other thoughts? Again, I don't mind going to another site or embedding an iframe from another source if Drupal doesn't have a way to do this.

P.S. Thanks for the feedback regarding how the site works in IE 6. I realize the menus and login bar don't work, and until someone complains, I'm leaving it. :-P

What are you looking for?

Are you looking for just a count of how many for each serving opportunity? Do all the people who will signup have user accounts? If so you might consider the flag module.

Another option is the webform module. Make signing up for something a form to be filled out.
