This could probably also go into the graphic design forum, but I'll be doing stuff for a web page.
When I load images from my Olympus camera into GIMP 2.6, I get this notice:
The image "example.jpg" has an embedded color profile:
CameraRGB Profile
Convert the image to the RGB working space (sRGB Profile)?
Sometimes I select KEEP, and other times I select CONVERT. But being that I'll be doing stuff for the web, do I need to convert it or keep the embedded color profile?
I was looking at a post and read that Safari reads embedded color profiles, but Firefox ignores them. I figured it's not a major deal with an image for a gallery, but it might be important if I'm trying to make sure images and/or things match color.
I've heard Rob Feature talk about RGB and 72 dpi for web pages, but that's about all I know as far as "designing for the web"
