Inkscape and GIMP tutorials would be great as well. Those are two fantastic programs that have come a long way in the last couple years.

I wonder this: What can we do to add a G&G twist to tutorials so that they are not just like a bazillion others out there?
I have seen probably thousands of Photoshop tutorials out there and don't want to just mimick them. PS is a new thing to me and I'm basically training myself to do the art my church needs. I have no training and no innate skill at art so it's a fun adventure.
I have learned a ton from Pixel Perfect with Bert Monroy but if you want to go I'd hurry - they have discontinued the series so who knows how long the vids will stay. Bert is an awesome artist and a great teacher so if you are in the mood check it out.
But, aside from linking good references what can/should we do to make it ours?
:)
Hey guys!
I have only used GIMP. I'm sure there are advantages to purchasing Photoshop, but I don't have the knowledge to probably notice the difference.
But I'd be very interested in tutorials for either one! I enjoy playing around with editing photographs! But I'm starting to concentrate on using either GIMP or Photoshop for web design stuff.
If I were to fork out the cash for photoshop, would it actually come with a book? I'm sure Photoshop is worth every penny. But I'm the type who likes to have a book to hold after spending hundreds of dollars.
Thanks,
Shane
... unhelpful, in a word.
There are lots of great Photoshop books out there, starting with Wiley's Photoshop Bible, (which has a new edition for every version of Photoshop) It combines reference with tutorial, which makes it a pretty valuable compendium to have.

Just following up on Jim Sewell's example and filling up an empty forum, lol.
Hey Rob, and any other designer out there, it would be really cool to add some photoshop/illustrator tutorials for common design elements such as realistic lighting, vector swirlies, etc...
Anyway, Just wnated to get a post in this forum, lol.
