This software looks sweet. Since I don't work in this live video environment I don't have a reason or a place to really test it out. But, it does look really nice, clean, and hopefully has a bright future. Yay to competition upping the stakes.

At my previous congregation, I became quite interested in this software:
What made it seem so appealing was that it was rather cross-platform compatible. Our secretary (who put the worship slides together) worked on a Mac, but always had to jump to a PC to use SongShowPlus, since that was our worship software and technology in our booth. Knowing about this software would've been nice. Haven't tried it, but figured I'd throw this out there.
With worship software I'm all for cross platform solutions. Churches shouldn't be set on one system or another.
Good call.

And I thought you guys were all about using the Mac whenever possible.
It looks like this program is essentially a skin for the QuickTime system. That makes more sense than most of the Windows worship presentation software that appear to use the .NET framework to skin the Windows Media Player.
I have three questions/concerns:
1. price - We are a small church and are using EasiSlides, which is freeware.
2. stability - I assume that this is pretty stable since it appears to be using QuickTime as its backend.
3. Ease of switching over - We have begun to develop a database of songs. I wonder how easy it is export/import our song library from one package to another.
I don't have time to test this out now, but maybe in a few months. Between my day job and family, I am pretty busy. No time to play with new toys for church. I am still working on setting up a drupal site for the church. Hopefully by Christmas . . . .

The church I am working for is currently using LiveWorship. It's pretty good. The learning curve is a bit steep and I don't think the ui is nearly as nice as other projection software, but it's pretty decent. It's also a fairly young piece of software, so I'm sure they'll be updating with lots of user requests sometime in the future.
If you'd like more info about iWorship, which was birthed here at GCC, I plan to have Albert Martin talk and do Q&A about his product on the Church IT Podcast this Thursday at 2pm Eastern. www.churchITpodcast.com for more deets
As for stability - we use it during all our services in our main auditorium ... 5 weekend services, 1 midweek, 1 junior-high service, 1 senior-high service, 1 college service. If it wasn't stable we wouldn't use it :-)

Thanks for this blog post! I just found it while Googling for something to replace Keynote for our Sunday services. We're just down the road from Granger, and their services are amazing. They have an unbelievably talented media crew.
So I went to the website to test it... and the most recent beta expired this past Monday... I sent a PM to the administrator on the public forum, so hopefully I'll hear back...
Just when I have time to mess with it over the Thanksgiving break, too! :)

This appears to be highly inspired by ProPresenter 3. It is stable, and does indeed appear to be a quicktime wrapper. Which is a good thing as quicktime is a solid player.
However, it does not support cross dissolves of backgrounds, which is a deal breaker for me.
My name is Albert Martin, I'm the chief developer of iWorship.
I thought I would let you know that version 1.1 of iWorship is out which includes some major updates to the video engine along with full CCLI support.
Among the changes to the video engine is the inclusion of full cross-dissolve support, which I noticed was addressed in this thread as a downside to the previous version. Another new feature is the ability to assign backgrounds to specific slides.
Just thought I'd drop in and let you all know about the new version. Feel free to check things out if any of the new features appeal to you. As always, you can post in the forum if you have any features you'd like to see in iWorship.
I'm sorry, but this just appears to be a rip off of another Mac worship software I have seen.
not to mention the demo crashed the first time I launched.
Good idea, but still needs a lot of work.
what happened to .Mac backup? that was the main original idea I saw in previous versions.
what about drag and drop to assign videos to a slide?
we found this quite amusing today:

I have to say that although they appear similar, and I haven't used either one, iWorship sure LOOKS more like a mac program. It is cleaner and simpler looking, which makes me want to try it first.
I may just be a Mac snob, but I prefer my software to look good while being functional as well
I agree with the mac look thing. I generally am right on with you, but Pro Presneter is way ahead. They recently introduced live video feeds inserts. That is really nice. iWorship is newer and afeter evaluating, I think they have a ways to go, but I don't think they have been around as long so it will take time.
I am an Apple admin and work with apps that don't follow Apple's UI specs - ex: CS3, Shake... some are even Apple's own apps :) I know they boght Shake, but hopefully over time they will integreate the proper UI.
Thanks!

Just thought I'd drop a quick note here and let everyone know that the app is still alive. The name had changed slightly to ProWorship, which may be what is leading to the difficulty finding it. I am in the process of preparing a major upgrade that will bring us to version 2.0 and also be rebranded as Revolution.
A public beta will be available at some point, but as this is a rather large upgrade I can't announce a specific date at this point. Many of the features that our users have asked for are being implemented as well as a few unique new features that at this point aren't available in any other worship presentation software on the Mac.
You can still get a license for version 1.2 and receive a free upgrade to Revolution when it is released. I'll also be announcing a very substantial price drop very soon. If you're thinking about purchasing just shoot me an e-mail and I'll be sure to get you in on the new lower price.
For status updates on Revolution follow @RevolutionApp on Twitter. To download version 1.2 go to www.macworshipsolutions.com

We have used LiveWorship for a couple of years now, however, they are very slow with development and are at the same version as almost 2 years ago. They still have the same bugs, the same limitations, and honestly, their interface is starting to reflect its age. I would check another program out at the moment.
Being an all Mac shop (after switching from PC), I understand Matt Farina's comment concerning cross-platform availability for presentation software, however, in this case (LiveWorship), it seems to have actually caused a distraction attempting to write software for 2 OS's.
We will be looking into ProWorship as well as few others, so thanks for the comments here!
Blessings.
Albert,
You noted in your last post that there will be a price drop on your worship software and to email you about it, but I did not see a way to email you. Our church is looking into mac solutions for worship as we are fed up with PCs. Thanks.

Hi Albert,
I am volunteering for a church plant in Noblesville, IN. We are currently looking for software to start using, I would love to go with Mac for stability, and just am not that happy with PCs. Do you have an estimated date we could expect to see the new ProWorship released? Or do you offer any beta testing? Thanks!
Feel free to email me Nick@hamiltonlifecenter.com

Hey Albert or anyone else,
I just bought ProWorship and put it on my new iMac 3.06 with OS X 10.6.2
I was in a situation where all my pc units were taken and I needed to do a weekend camp. I have no preference for pc or mac or linux, I like all of them, and I have had all of them crash at one time or another. I violated my cardinal rule of using something for the first time in a live event, but I had no other choice. Add to that the worship leader didn't follow the "list" and followed the leading of the Holy Spirit at times. So I was neck deep in on-the-job-training. There are some things I couldn't figure out.
Is there a help file available?
How can I remove an image from a slide after it's assigned without starting over in the middle of the song?
When an image or clip is assigned I am unable to drop another clip behind it, an image will drop however.
The clip keeps playing but I can't get it to replace the image.
I also had problems playing a DVD.
Is is possible some OS X or Quicktime X updates fix these things?
Thanks
In my news reader today there is a post from Jason Powell that someone at Granger Community Church has created an in house worship presentation package to fill some perceived weaknesses in ProPresenter. This package is now known as iWorship and is available for beta testing.
If any of you Mac types are looking for new options you can check it out at iWorship's website. Since I have not yet re-entered the Mac world, I can't play with it. Maybe one of these days . . . .
