I haven't purchased an iPhone yet, but more than likely will. I really would like some kind of Bible application on the phone. I was thinking since the iphone has a full safari browser, and the rate plans include unlimited web/data there is no need to purchase an actual Bible application for the iphone. I don't even think there is one even if you wanted to purchase one. Use a service like e-Bible and your set. Their free member package offers over 10 english bible translations, 3 commentaries, 2 dictionaries, and 3 encyclopedias along with creating bookmarks and notes and sharing those with people you add as friends to your e-bible list.
Perfect for looking up some quick Bible info when your not at home, granted you must have internet connection to access the content. When are home at your computer you can log in and study where you left off.
Spend $99 per year you get a bunch of other study aids included. I''l be signing up for the free account at least for sure.
Here is the break down comparisons of the free verses paid accounts.

online bibles
Or, they could use studylight.org or biblegateway.com

iPhone Bible
I made a Bible formated for the iPhone at http://iphone.clearsight.org. Its simple, but useful. :)
neat
Neat. I love that the bible is popping up for the iphone everywhere. Do you, also, have a site that works for other mobile browsers? Like the one on the crackberry?
And, just an FYI.... http://clearsight.org/ is broken.

It is great. Good job!. Its nice to see several people doing this now. I was unable get an iphone, so a crackberry version would be cool.
A Downloadable Bible for iPhone.
iBiblez.com has a program called TouchBible. It is a new iPhone Bible. There are two versions. One is a downloadable bible for iphone(the NT) the other is a Mobile version that requires the internet.
It has a pretty neat way to navigate from one book to the next. And the downloadable version requires no special software. Just thought you'd like to look into it :)
I really like the iPhone
I really like the iPhone Bible at http://www.laridian.com/iphone.... The cool thing about Laridian is that when you license a Bible translation, you can use it on any reader they offer for any device. You don't have to purchse it over again. I have purchased the NIV and then I have a few free ones from their site. The only bad thing about onilne version is that, well, it is online. With the iPhone SDK out, I am looking forward to more native options so I can searcha and move around between books and chapters faster.
The big thing for me having a Bible on my iPhone is that I find myself reading and studying more regular because I actually have it with me at all times. I also have no problem reading from a device.
Thanks!
