Gimp is Great!
Thanks NP I have actually recommended Gimp to several friends who needed a low cost well FREE alternative to Photoshop.
The thing that blew me away with www.a.viary.com was that you don't download anything to your local computer. You can actually login on any computer, create or access your files and use the software within your browser.
If you haven't seen this site yet it's definitely worth checking out! www.a.viary.com
I don't want to try to give too much detail but you can sign up for a free account and use Aviary's three online image editing applications. Think "Free Online Version of Photoshop".
